Nicolás is a farmer who learned farming skills with his family as a child. He was born and raised in Apia Risaralda, in the La Farallona area. He has been dedicated to coffee production for 15 years and has been certified for several years. He has made significant improvements to his farm, both in the infrastructure of his home and in the wet coffee processing facilities. His farm also has fruit trees, cassava, onions, beans, and poultry, which provide him with an additional food supply.
