Don Gonzaga Rivera is a lifelong coffee farmer. He has experienced all the processes of change and adaptation that coffee growing in Colombia has undergone. He emphasizes that the cultural management practices for pests and diseases are what can never change. He recognizes the importance of protecting the environment and human health. He has had his farm for approximately 20 years and has been actively involved in training, association, and cooperative development ever since. He says he feels happy and proud of his work and his tradition. He also has a vegetable garden and combines plantains with coffee cultivation.
